About the Lahore Board board result

BISE Lahore is the largest examination board in Punjab and one of the oldest in Pakistan. Every year close to half a million candidates sit its 9th class annual examination across Lahore, Kasur, Sheikhupura and Nankana Sahib districts. If you appeared under this board in March 2026, your result becomes available on 2 September 2026 at 10:00 AM and you can check it on this page by entering your roll number.

Board history and background

The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Lahore was established in 1954, making it one of the earliest examination authorities in the country. For decades it was the sole board covering most of central Punjab, and several boards that exist today — including Sahiwal — were carved out of its jurisdiction as candidate numbers grew beyond what a single authority could manage. Its size gives it a particular role in Punjab education policy: changes to grading, paper patterns and examination rules are often piloted or first implemented here before spreading provincewide.

Districts covered

The board covers four districts: Lahore, Kasur, Sheikhupura and Nankana Sahib. Lahore district alone contributes the majority of candidates, reflecting both its population density and the concentration of schools in the metropolitan area. The catchment mixes some of the best-resourced private schools in Pakistan with government schools serving low-income neighbourhoods, and that spread shows up clearly in result statistics each year.

2025 result performance

In the 2025 annual examination, BISE Lahore recorded an overall pass rate of 45.08 percent. This placed it below the Punjab average of roughly 48 percent, a pattern that has held for several years. Large urban boards typically report lower aggregate pass rates than smaller boards, partly because their candidate pool is more varied and partly because they register a higher proportion of private candidates, who historically clear at lower rates than regular school candidates.

How to check your Lahore Board board result

Because BISE Lahore handles more candidates than any other Punjab board, its official result portal experiences the heaviest traffic in the province during the first hour after announcement. Students regularly report timeouts and blank pages between 10:00 and 10:30 AM on result day. Checking here avoids that bottleneck entirely — enter your roll number above and your result appears immediately. If you prefer the SMS route, send your roll number to 800291 and you will receive your marks within seconds.

After the result

Lahore board issues detailed marks certificates through schools, typically four to six weeks after the announcement. Rechecking applications open shortly after the result and must be submitted online through the board portal within the announced deadline. If you did not clear one or more subjects, the supplementary examination is usually held in October, with registration opening roughly fifteen days after the annual result.

Passing marks and grading

Like all Punjab boards, BISE Lahore Board requires a minimum of 40 percent in each individual subject for the 2026 examination. This replaced the earlier 33 percent threshold. The requirement applies per subject rather than on aggregate, so a strong overall percentage does not compensate for a single subject falling below the line.

Grades follow the standard provincial scale: A+ for 90 percent and above, A for 80 to 89, B for 70 to 79, C for 60 to 69, D for 50 to 59, and E for 40 to 49. Below 40 percent is recorded as Unsatisfactory, terminology that replaced the word Fail from the 2026 session.
