Board history and background
The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Sahiwal was established in 2012, making it among the youngest examination authorities in Punjab. Before its creation, students from Sahiwal, Okara and Pakpattan appeared under BISE Lahore, which by then was administering an unmanageable candidate volume. The separation was part of a wider provincial effort to bring examination administration closer to the districts it serves.
